General Nursery Information

Update of information

Please remember to inform a member of nursery staff as soon as possible if any changes occur to the following to ensure the child's personal plan is updated

Emergency contact details / Address, phone number or email address / Pick-ups / Personal circumstances affecting nursery / Permissions e.g. photography / Medication or allergies 

Absence

If your child is unable to attend Nursery, please contact the school office prior to the session on that day to inform them of the reason for absence. If you have a planned absence, please inform a member of staff prior to the date.

Allergies

As we have a number of children with severe allergies please do not bring your own food or drinks into nursery, including into the cloakroom, as this compromises the risk assessments we have put in place to safely meet the health care needs of all children.

Packed Lunches

If your child attends the morning session at nursery you are more than welcome to send your child with a lunch. We ask if you could avoid bringing nuts in your child's lunch due to allergies within the nursery. If you have any questions regarding packed lunches or require any other information please speak to a member of staff.

Children's clothing

Please ensure all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name (including spare changes, coats, outdoor shoes etc.). Indoor shoes should be placed in your child's blue/red drawstring bag at the end of each session.  Any clothing items found without a name will be put in our lost property box in the cloakroom which will be emptied at the end of each term.

Outdoor Play

Children will have access to outdoor play in all weathers. in the current climate outdoor play has never been more important.  Please ensure your child arrives at nursery in weather appropriate clothing, for example, wearing a waterproof jacket and wellies on wet days.  

At the moment we are unable to use nursery waterproofs and wellies, If you are able to provide these for your child it would be appreciated. We have limited supply that can only be used as an emergency and requires to be washed after every individual use.

Please ensure everything you bring to nursery is labelled clearly with your child's name.

Snack

Breakfast, morning and an afternoon snack are provided at nursery. Staff create a menu for snack following the Setting the Table document.

Pick up and Drop off

During pick up and drop off times we would like to thank you for following our guidelines in place to keep us all safe. Inline with our new risk assessment, we have now placed coloured dots on the ground to ensure parents are socially distanced at pick up/drop off times. We ask you to kindly adhere to these procedures and to wear a mask when on school grounds.

Staff do try to bring your children out as quickly and efficiently as possible, but this may take a little longer due to the staff supporting the children on the nursery floor. If there are no other parents within the nursery entrance area please press the buzzer to alert us of your arrival.
